Sooo .. You have a 69 - 78 odd Ford , and want to fit decent brakes . 
You ring up the guys stateside , down under , the local Pep stores , :mrgreen: 
all tell you , big $ or you can go pleasure yourself in a sexual manner . 

I think a boer kan maak n plan , or f%$k it up proper trying :twisted: 

Herewith the outset of my plan . 

Part numbers and detailed photos and a tutorial will follow once i've got the local 
traffic test stations brake test readout to prove it can be done - cheaper than a herpes treatment :mrgreen:

Calipers will be 4 pot Brembo units , 
Pads still to be determined .

Note : The calipers do not need to "float " like the standard single piston units . 
This resolves a lot of headaches wgt the mounting part .

Rear disks will be from a mercedes W203
Rear calipers from a Golf :oops: , to keep the hand brake operational
Both front and rear pads have provision for brake wear indicators , so might just as well fit them ! 
@ R35 each , plus the cost of a bit of wire 8)

Aaargh

What a way to start your Saturday morning !
Have to remove the 302/C4 combo from the Isuzu Trooper , and transplant to a 1972 XY Falcon Ranchero pickup .
There will be lots of shouting .

Running the big Ford



I plan on using Spitronics engine management to run the EFI and the auto box . 
Complete setup around $ 600 
This includes : 

  • Internal coil & injector drivers - no extra cost for firing modules
  •          Single + Multi Coil Spark system
  •          Use Sensors on engine - no need to do modifications
  •          Custom bolt on timing gears
  •          Cold Start + Idle Control
  •          2 General Purpose outputs for use as fan control, shift light etc




I am  getting these puppies for the big ford !!

Anyone got ideas on how to go coil-pack or coil-on-plug on a EFI 460 ?
I am planning on using Spitronics efi .
What size injectors ????
Jeez with the winter slowly passing i dont get time to work on the stang !
Selling the GT rear end with LSD 2.25 ratio to a friend who did a 6 cyl > V8 conversion
He can really do with the upgrade , and i will need a 9 " anyway .
Anyone with ideas on a cheap-ass 4 link install ?

My first mustang . 1971 429 SCJ . Foolish enough to have sold it ! 

Project Twin Turbo Fox
Currently bone stock .
Planning on stuffing a big block 460 EFI in it . With 2 x T-04 Turbos .
Budget junkyard turbo build .
Most of the parts will be sourced locally , or imported from Summit Racing in the USA.

All of this on STOCK air cooling !! Next stop : watercooling
